Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator
Coordinate practical health and safety systems across Carrfields, working with managers and teams to support safer workplaces.
Carrfields is looking for a practical and organised Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator to support the delivery of our health and safety across the Group.
Based at our Ashburton Head Office, this is a permanent, full-time role with regular travel to Carrfields sites. You’ll work closely with the People & Safety Manager and managers across our businesses.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can take ownership of their work and keep things moving. You’ll agree priorities with the People & Safety Manager, manage your day-to-day work independently and keep them informed as things progress. You’ll also use sound judgement to recognise when an issue needs guidance or escalation.
What You’ll Do
You’ll help maintain Carrfields’ health and safety systems and support managers and employees to use them effectively.
You will:
Coordinate the day-to-day administration of our health and safety systems, including Onside, registers, records and reporting.
Support the reporting and follow-up of incidents, hazards and corrective actions.
Coordinate site inspections, risk assessments, audits and contractor management.
Organise health and safety inductions, training, licences and competency records.
Keep health and safety documents accurate, accessible and up to date.
Help managers and employees understand and apply health and safety processes.
Prepare summaries and information to support management reporting.
Support health and safety coordination for relevant Carrlands properties.
Assist with broader operational compliance audits, particularly within the Seed division.
Identify practical ways to improve our systems and processes.
What we're looking for
Assist with broader operational compliance audits, particularly within the Seed division.
You will bring:
Experience in health and safety coordination, compliance, operational administration or quality systems.
A practical understanding of workplace health and safety, risk management and incident reporting.
Strong organisation, with the ability to manage priorities independently.
Confidence working with managers, employees and contractors across different sites.
Clear written and verbal communication.
A current full Class 1 driver licence and the ability to travel to Carrfields sites.
A health and safety qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, would be an advantage. Experience with Onside or another health and safety system, internal audits, contractor management, training coordination or operational compliance would also be useful.
