The role will have responsibility for our wider Canterbury Machinery operations.
Working closely with the management team, you’ll play an important role in shaping the next stage of growth for Carrfields Machinery in Canterbury. This is a hands-on regional leadership role, working across Sales, Service and Parts to support business performance, develop our people, and deliver a consistent customer experience across the region.
What You’ll Do
As Regional Manager, you will lead the Machinery business across the Canterbury region, working closely with branch leaders, sales teams, service teams, parts teams, customers and suppliers.
You will:
· Lead revenue growth, customer retention, team capability and regional performance across Sales, Service and Parts.
· Identify and pursue opportunities for market development and business growth.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders.
· Support branch leaders to achieve agreed financial, operational and customer outcomes.
· Provide leadership, coaching and support to regional teams.
· Develop and implement regional business plans aligned with Carrfields’ strategy.
· Monitor key performance areas including sales performance, gross profit, labour recovery and inventory performance.
· Support major sales opportunities, customer retention initiatives and customer issue resolution.
· Encourage collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement across the region.
· Promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure operational risks are managed effectively.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence the direction of the region, identify growth opportunities, and work closely with senior leaders to build a stronger, more consistent Machinery operation across Canterbury.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be an experienced leader with strong commercial acumen, a practical approach, and the ability to build trust with both customers and teams.
You will bring:
Proven leadership experience within agriculture, machinery, transport, construction, heavy equipment or a related industry.
Experience leading multi-site or regional operations.
Strong sales, commercial and financial management capability.
A track record of driving revenue growth and operational performance.
The ability to coach, support and develop leaders and teams.
Strong relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills.
Confidence working with budgets, forecasts and business performance measures.
A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
A genuine commitment to health, safety and the Carrfields values.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being visible in the market, spending time with customers, and building trusted long-term relationships across the rural sector.
Agricultural machinery experience would be an advantage, but most important is your ability to lead people, grow customer relationships, and drive sustainable business performance across a busy regional operation.
