Based at our Hinds Seed Cleaning site, this role is part of the team responsible for cleaning, processing, and preparing seed for our customers across Mid Canterbury and beyond.

As a Seed Machine Operator, you’ll be operating seed cleaning machinery, setting up equipment for different seed types and jobs, monitoring quality and output, and helping keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

This role would suit someone practical, reliable, and mechanically minded who enjoys hands-on work, being part of a team, and working in a busy rural production environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate and monitor seed cleaning machinery and equipment.

· Set up and adjust machinery for different seed types and processing jobs.

· Carry out basic troubleshooting, cleaning, and general maintenance of machinery.

· Support seed intake, processing, packing, loading, and dispatch activities.

· Complete production records and required paperwork accurately.

· Keep work areas clean, tidy, and safe.

· Work with the wider processing team to keep jobs moving efficiently.

· Follow all health and safety and company procedures.

Experience operating machinery, working in agriculture, seed, grain, manufacturing, warehousing, or logistics would be advantageous, but full training can be provided for the right person.

A forklift licence would also be an advantage.
